ARK

What things come into your mind when you see the title? ARK ? A big boat or things related to Christ? The main point is, after reading this entry today, you will have a 'new' perspective of the word ARK.

How many of you have watched "Evan Almighty" ? I just did today

You may wish to read about the plot here

This movie is a comedy but along with it comes some enlightenment for me today. So many times, we pray for something to happen, but not all the time do we see everything that we prayed for happen, and we get discouraged. This in turn affects our faith.

Below are the parts in the film which 'speaks to me' the most.

'if someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience or the opportunities to be patient?'

'if they pray for courage, do you think God gives them courage or the opportunities to be courageous?'

'if someone prays for family to be closer, you think God gives them the warm & fuzzy feeling or give them the opportunities to love each other?'

Does it speaks to you too? I thought it sorts of reminded me that i cant expect things to happen instantly. Instead, it has to go through some process before the actual outcome.

I found myself to be 'almost' always waiting for people when we have an appointment.Initially, i was frustrated, i mean why cant people just go out earlier or reach earlier? Why must they be late and expect to seal their lateness with a 'sorry, im late'

Soon, i realised no matter how late i arrived (since i know they'll be late, i was late for 10-15 mins), i am still earlier than them. Later on, it becomes normal for me to even wait 30 to 40 mins and i dont feel too much frustration.

What i am trying to say is, the lateness of others built up 'patience' in me.Most of the time, things that happen go unappreciated or that it might not even be significant enough to proclaim that things gonna be different in the future.

At the closing of the movie, there's this part which i like too. In order to change the world, it gotta start with '(A)ct of (R)andom (K)indness'. That explains what ARK means. :)

Hope this entry gives you some refreshing thoughts!
